The five WaterSaver Community landscapes were thoughtfully designed to accommodate different styles, budgets, and environments. The native and adapted plants were chosen for their resilience in water-saving landscapes and their beauty. Additionally, the WaterSaver Community incorporates water management features that slow, capture, and clean water, helping to keep both the landscapes and local wildlife hydrated and healthy.

Casa Sol’s modern landscape includes native ornamental grasses and prairie wildflowers that can survive drought. The design of the home utilizes wood slats to increase shading as the sun moves throughout the day. Casa Sol has a patio made of permeable hardscape, so water can enter the soil easily.
The landscape of Crossvine Cottage showcases a dry shade garden that is both colorful and lush, under a canopy of oak trees. A tropical look was created with a selection of vines and shrubs that are drought tolerant for the hot Texas summers. A rain garden features native dwarf palmetto that will benefit from the increased soil moisture.
The Hill Haus has a limestone fireplace and Texas Hill Country-inspired plants. Ornamental grasses, prickly pear cactus, and agarita provide a structural backbone for seasonal wildflowers. Steep slopes around the Hill Haus provide the opportunity to showcase terrace gardening. Limestone boulders in the terrace garden stop soil erosion and help water soak into the soil.
The Petra House landscape showcases succulents, dry land grasses, and perennial colors. This stunning selection of arid plants can tolerate the harshest of conditions. The walls of the home were built out of rammed earth, an eco-friendly material.
Prickly Pear Place blends a drought-resistant landscape with a classic home look. When in bloom, the cool-colored flowers of this landscape attract pollinators and wildlife. The landscape has a strong backbone of shrubs and the feel of the gardens of Southeast Texas. The green roof cools the surface, slows water runoff, and adds biodiversity to the garden.
