Help us keep the Garden growing happily. To ensure a safe, beautiful, and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask all guests to follow the guidelines below. Guests who choose not to comply may, regretfully, be asked to end their visit early.
Yes, please!
- Bring a refillable water bottle (hydration is always in season).
- Enjoy plants with your eyes, leave them for everyone to admire.
- Stay on designated garden pathways to protect our living collections.
- Keep an eye on young explorers in your group.
- Recycle! Waste and recycling bins are located throughout the Garden.
- Feel free to bring blankets, lawn chairs, hats, sunscreen, and water bottles.
- Take photos and videos for personal use, we love seeing your Garden moments!
- Wear shirts and shoes at all times (see splash area exceptions below).
Let’s skip these, please:
- No outside food or drinks (water bottles are the exception).
- No smoking or tobacco use, including vaping or e-cigarettes, anywhere in the Garden.
- No picking flowers, collecting seeds, harvesting produce, or removing plants.
- No firearms, weapons, or portable music players.
- No bikes, scooters, skateboards, or similar wheeled devices.
- No climbing trees, rocks, or structures, or playing games like frisbee, football, baseball, or kite-flying.
- No swimming or wading in fountains or ponds (but splashing is encouraged in the Family Adventure Garden splash area!)
- No photographing people in trees, on rocks, or on structures.
To protect our guests and plant collections, pets are not permitted in the Garden.
Service animals are welcome, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Texas law.
Service animals are defined by the ADA as dogs individually trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities.
*Pets may be permitted during special events. Check the calendar for details.
Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
Young children may wear swimsuits, swim diapers, or swim trunks in the Family Adventure Garden’s designated splash area only.
The Garden reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who does not comply with this policy.
The Garden is readily accessible for guests of varying mobility levels. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are welcome throughout the Garden.
Guests are welcome to take casual photos and videos for personal use as long as:
- You stay on pathways
- Plants and collections are not disturbed
Allowed equipment:
- Camera phones
- Tablets
- Cameras with attached flash
Not allowed:
- Tripods
- Standalone flashes
- Drones
Special Occasion Photography includes weddings, engagements, anniversaries, quinceañeras, maternity sessions, birthdays, graduations, proms, or any staged photoshoot.
Guidelines:
- $50 session fee (admission not included)
- Photography must take place during regular Garden hours
- Tripods, reflectors, and small standalone flashes are allowed
- Garden membership does not waive the session fee
- Small hand-held props are welcome (bouquets, blankets, stuffed animals, birdseed, small signs)
- No wardrobe changes on Garden property
- Sessions are purchased onsite at the Admissions Kiosk
- Not available after hours, on closed days, or during private events
- Keep pathways and entrances clear at all times
- Drones, furniture, helium balloons, confetti, and flower petals are not permitted
*Passes will be issued for your party. One guest will leave an ID at the kiosk and receive it back when the party exits
All commercial filming and photography requires prior approval and location fees apply.

During your visit, you may be photographed or recorded by the Botanical Garden or its agents. Paid admission grants permission for the Garden to use your image, likeness, or recordings for promotional or educational purposes in perpetuity.
