Where everyone takes root.
There is a place in San Antonio where families gather under the oaks, neighbors meet on winding paths, and visitors reconnect with nature. Because of supporters like you, SABG continues to be that place.
Acres of Garden
Trees to be planted
Native seeds collected
Through our Garden for All initiative, we are working to ensure that everyone who lives in or visits San Antonio feels a true sense of belonging here. SABG is more than 39 acres of beautiful landscapes. It is a shared space for learning, reflection, and connection, open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences.
It helps families spend time outdoors together, welcomes school groups and community partners, and ensures that SABG remains a place where everyone can feel at home in nature.
This spring, your generosity is also helping something new take root beyond our gates. Through the TREES initiative, SABG is leading a multi-year effort to help reforest the Guadalupe River watershed after the devastating Hill Country flood. Native seeds have been collected and are growing into saplings. This fall, the team will start planting at least 50,000 trees across the region.
When you give, you help create spaces where people thrive in nature. You make it possible for SABG to serve our city while also conserving Texas native landscapes.

Your gift helps families spend meaningful time outdoors together, fostering connection and wonder in green spaces.
Welcoming school groups and community partners to learn, explore, and grow at the Garden.
The San Antonio Botanical Garden is committed to ensuring that everyone can experience the beauty of nature. From paved pathways and accessible facilities to programs that remove financial and transportation barriers, we strive to make the Garden welcoming for all.
Plant conservation is a core pillar of the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s mission. While rooted in protecting Texas native plants and ecosystems, SABG also cares for plant collections from around the world, including more than 130 rare and endangered species. Through conservation, propagation, seed banking, and research, SABG helps prevent plant extinction, preserve biodiversity, and advance the understanding of plants that sustain life.
Conservation at SABG extends beyond plants to include water stewardship and pollinator support. Through horticultural displays, demonstration gardens, and educational programs, the Garden serves as a living classroom where visitors of all ages can discover practical ways to conserve water, support pollinators, and create more sustainable landscapes at home and in their communities.
SABG also leads large-scale conservation efforts beyond its 39-acres. Currently, the Garden’s largest conservation outreach project is the TREES Initiative (Texas Recovery for Ecological and Environmental Stability), which is growing and planting at least 50,000 native trees along the Guadalupe River using seeds collected in Kerr County. In response to the devastating July 4, 2025, Hill Country floods, this multi-year effort is helping ensure the long-term health and resilience of one of Texas’ most treasured waterways.
Plant hope.

The TREES initiative (Texas Recovery for Ecological and Environmental Stability) is a five-year project led by SABG to plant at least 50,000 native trees along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County following the 2025 flood. Since launching, the team has collected more than 850,000 native seeds and will plant tens of thousands of trees starting this fall.
