Family Workshop: Anthotypes

Printing Photographs with Plants

Learn how to harness the power of plants to make art! Similar to cyanotypes, anthotypes use plant pigments instead of chemicals to create photographic images.
Date Saturday, April 04, 2026
Time 12 - 2 p.m.
Cost $17 adult ($12 adult member); $13 child ($10 child member).

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to make emulsions by mixing and blending different plant materials, as well as creating prints on paper by exposing the emulsions to sunlight. Contact ohinojosa@sabot.org with any questions.

Note: The anthotype exposure process may take longer than the class length and may need to be completed at home. Instructions will be provided.

Recommended for ages 8 and up.
