Turner will begin with an overview of Longwood Gardens—its seasonal displays and highlights for visitors—before exploring the history and evolving design of bonsai at the Garden, including unique collections dating back to 1959. Learn about the art and ethics of traditional yamadori bonsai cultivation, along with inspiration for creating your own "yardadori" bonsai from landscape plants. Drawing from years of study with numerous bonsai artists, Turner offers a behind-the-scenes look at bonsai. Guests are welcome to stay after the lecture for a tree pruning demo.
